HRH The Duke of Edinburgh visited Hamble on Sunday, to mark the official opening of the rebuilt pier and restored cottages at the Royal Southern Yacht Club.
A keen sailor all his life, His Royal Highness has a long association with the Royal Southern Yacht Club, joining in 1948, being Admiral of the Club from 1952 to 2002 and now its Patron.

Brambles Cricket - Updated:Hatch Supper at the ISC in Social Events
Once again its time to fight for honour and glory on the Brambles bank even though it is not our turn to win.
The time of 1800 on the 31st has now been confirmed.
Now all we need are Cricketers.
 Anyone wishing to join in the  fun is also invited to the Island Sailing Club for a post match ‘Hatch Supper’ at £10.50 per person.  So that the ISC can arrange Catering this must be booked with the Royal Southern Office by 1600 on Thursday.’
