We collect, use and store your personal data, as described in this Privacy Policy and also when we collect data from you, in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.

The Royal Southern Yacht Club collects personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address, and telephone number, for the purpose of our legitimate interest in operating the Club.
The Club also collects anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your ZIP code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favourites for statistical purposes.

Photos and videos of Members and their boats Putting on the Club's website and social media pages and using in press releases. Consent. The Member may withdraw their consent at any time by contacting us by e-mail or letter.
Radio call signs Collected for a rally and shared between those participating in the rally. For the purposes of our legitimate interests to ensure boats participating within a rally can maintain contact with each other.
Bank account details of the member or other person making payment(s) to the Club Managing the Member's and their dependants' membership of the Club, plus the provision of goods and services. Performing the Club's contract with the Member.
Employees and/or Suppliers For internal records. Performing the Club's contract with the Employee and/or Supplier.


How long we keep your information


We will hold your personal data on our systems for as long as you are a member of the Club and for as long afterwards as it is in the Club's legitimate interest to do/so or for as long as is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, e.g. compliance with tax requirements and exemptions, and the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.
We securely destroy all personal and financial information once we have used it and no longer need it.


How we protect your personal information

The Royal Southern Yacht Club secures your personal information from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. The Royal Southern Yacht Club secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorised access, use or disclosure.
