On Monday, July 29, 2024, the Commodore’s Cocktail Party took place during Cowes Week at the prestigious and newly renovated RORC Cowes Clubhouse, creating an enchanting atmosphere for all attendees. 140 members & guests began their evening with a scenic ferry ride, departing from the Prince Philip Yacht Haven at 5:30 PM and making their way to Trinity Landing. The weather was exceptionally pleasant, bathed in warm sunshine, which set the perfect tone for the evening’s festivities.

Upon arrival, party guests were greeted with warmth by the dedicated staff of the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) and Royal Southern Yacht Club along with our Commodore Gordon and his wife Della. The terrace buzzed with lively conversations as attendees mingled, sipping on delightful Cremant de Loire and savoring a selection of scrumptious canapés. The combination of exquisite food and drink, coupled with the stunning views of the water, created an inviting ambiance that fostered camaraderie among the attendees.

As the evening unfolded, participants departed at 8:00 PM for a breathtaking sunset ride back to the clubhouse, where a supper awaited. The experience was not only a celebration of sailing culture but also a testament to the collaborative efforts of the RORC and Royal Southern Yacht Club staff, whose meticulous planning ensured that the event was truly memorable. Gratitude is extended to all involved in orchestrating such a remarkable occasion, which beautifully highlighted the spirit of community within the yachting fraternity.
